St John's Inn

Went to see a luau at this inn. What an experience. Food was delicious minus the dessert. Everyone said the fish was outstanding. Reason went was the fire dancing. Worth every penny. What an experience. Love how they grab people from the audience to enjoy them on stage. When they started with stories from diffrent countries. The fire dancing is just mouth dropping. Amazing how they can do that without dropping it. Also, love the option take get photo taken at the end with them too. Great way interact with audience

We were looking for an affordable hotel room in Myrtle Beach in a quiet location. So ready to go to the beach after being quarantined for so long but we didn't want to spend a fortune on a room. |||| A friend recommended St John's Inn to us and we booked it for four nights. We requested the unit that they had stayed in which was #203 . It had just been renovated and updated; we were very pleased with it. Nice and clean-loved the tile floors. The balcony overlooked a scenic marsh area and across the street offered an ocean view. ||||We were able to use Caravelle facilitites yet we liked the pool and hot tub here because it looked very clean and was not as crowded. Rooms had potential but needed major updates and repairs. The carpet was so dirty that we had to wear our shoes the entire time. The electrical outlets needed updates to work. The beds were hard as a rock and made comfortable sleep impossible. The silverware, dinnerware, cups, and cooking utensils were dirty upon inspection. The pool was nice and clean. Location was close walk to the beach. No customer service or breakfast amenities. AC worked well.

Let me start with saying the smell of this room was smelled from the parking lot. The tub water did not stop running, the mold all in the shower & tub was just mind blowing! The square patch above the shower was also dripping water STEADILY! The back sliding door to the pool was broke in many ways, such as said door did not even close all the way, the lock just loosely flapped up and down proving to not work either and was sooo dirty you could barley see out of it due to mostly hand prints where the room was NOT cleaned before us entering. Just sitting mold & mildew is very unsafe! Beds looked like they had been slept in and not made back, Managment told us this is because the room was “missed” when being cleaned. Let me not leave out the part that an entire leaf to the table was missing.

I had good service from one representative at the front desk , beside that upon arrival for a family of 3 the room had one shampoo bottle for the entire family and no bar soap or other useful items. When I phoned in the morning I requested housekeeping to bring those items and more towels and my request was ignored until I re-requested and a gentlemen did send the needed items . We also did find a cockroach in the area . The room does not show as advertised the rooms are different then the picture appears and the location pin point was misleading as I thought it was staggered but still bordering the beach , location is actually across the street .
