Super fun and great views! Very cozy and exciting!

This was a memorable stay for two families, each with three children. There are plenty of available utensils in the kitchenette and the mantle lights provided ample heating such that we did not need the propane heater. The structure itself feels rock solid and it provides awesome views of the surrounding landscape. The forestry service provides directions from the east, which are simple to follow, but the approach from the south was a little trickier, requiring some backtracking to identify the correct route. As other reviewers have noted, folks on OHVs stop by frequently, sometimes to grab cell reception and other times to explore the tower, despite a sign posted at the entrance indicating that access is by reservation only. Do you walk into someone else's campsite and sit down at their picnic table or try to look into their sleeping area? No? Then why do it here? This is a paid, reserved area with posted signs saying as much and a locked gate at the entrance, but that doesn't seem to stop people from walking around the site, looking in your car windows, walking up the tower stairs, or sitting down at the picnic table even when you're standing right there. We went for a short walk one evening and came back to someone up at the top trying to pick the lock to access the tower cabin! The tower itself is wonderful. Great place to slow down are relax for the weekend. Would highly recommend if you can get the reservation.
