SpringHill Suites by Marriott Gainesville Haymarket

This was, without question, the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. The first room reeked of a terrible smell, and the second room they offered somehow smelled even worse. We ended up staying in the original room only because every other hotel in the area was booked for a soccer tournament. The real nightmare started the next morning. While we were away, I received multiple calls threatening to remove my belongings from the room because of “checkout”—even though I had booked two nights and the front desk had already confirmed this at check-in. The voicemail left for me was shockingly rude and unprofessional. When I called the front desk to clear things up, the same young woman answered and was immediately combative. Excellent experience. Clean and comfortable room. Very comfy bed and pillows. Registration was easy and they honored my request for adjoining rooms since we needed 2 rooms. Check-in folks were very nice and helpful . . . and quick. Our room door key reading mechanism wouldn't work so the front desk staff called maintenance who came immediately and fixed it quickly.

I’ve been staying at this SpringHill Suites for work all week, and Paris has been the highlight every single night. She’s sharp, professional, and naturally creates an atmosphere of respect and good energy. On the night of October 31, 2025, she faced a group of entitled, disrespectful after-hours patrons who clearly carried preconceived notions about her. Instead of reacting, she stayed composed, graceful, and completely in control. That’s real professionalism. Marriott should be proud to have someone like Paris representing their brand with such strength and class.

Brittany was the best service attendant I have had for a while. If I were to make a decision of a hotel room she would simply be the reason I chose springhill suites once again. Thank you Brittany and thank you Springfield.
