Somtara Madeline Island Lake Home Rental

I grew up on the shores of Lake Superior. Going back to stay right on the edge of the water in this lovely setting was wonderful. It was quiet, comfortable, and just what I needed to recharge my energy. Tom was easy to work with and saw to all our needs. I hope to get back there soon.

Have been both in the fall and summer and had a wonderful relaxing time in each season. Somtara provides beautiful scenery in a maticulously maintained setting, so many spots to just hang out throughout the house and property. Highly recommended.

Somtara is your retreat from reality. It is the most thoughtfully designed rental I have ever stayed in. After 20 years of renting, Tom and Sara have honestly thought of everything you could possibly need or have questions about. The kitchen is well stocked with cookware and utensils, top of the line appliances make it an amazing experience, and the view is stunning. My husband and I truly enjoyed spending each morning down by the water with coffee and fires in both morning and evening. We felt no real reason to even leave during our stay, except for the wedding we had to attend :) Thanks again for letting us experience this treasure!

My family spent four days at Somtara last August and found it to be a perfect relaxing getaway. Tom was an excellent host and the location was ideally tucked away on a quiet street overlooking Lake Superior. The house was meticulously kept and the grounds were well maintained and gave us plenty of room to spread out and enjoy the views. My family plans on returning soon...

This cabin is an amazing place to stay! My wife and in-laws stayed there for a long weekend during the apple festival and was not disappointed! This cabin/home has beautiful views of Lake Superior, picture windows on the lake side and the cabin itself is very homely! The fire pit down by the lake is by far the best fire pit I have ever seen. We enjoyed every night down there listening to the lake with a fire in the fire pit watching the stars! They have a guestbook on site and there were SO many positive reviews of guests who come and LOVE this place! I agree with ALL of them! This place will be on my to-go houses to rent on Lake superior! Thank you for the fun time and a wonderful experience!!
