Do not believe any rating above 3 stars. This place is one of the three worst places I've ever stayed. Our first room they gave us had trash everywhere and unmade beds. Not kidding. The second "upgraded" suite has one AC unit and a hot plate. Zero amenities. At $160 per night this is an embarrassment. We had to ask for a hair dryer to warm up the room because there is zero heat and zero insulation. The curtains don't cover the windows. It's noisy. Avoid!!!

This hotel is part of the North Beach Village boutique collection. As far as customer service the North Beach people are very nice. The property is older but well kept. The only thing I really didn't like was my room had a connecting door to the next room, and they played their TV loud and is was like the TV was in my room. I think this is just a fallacy of this particular room. (#23) Staying at North Beach you get the benefits of all their properties. There was a nice gym and pool. Other properties had very nice hot tubs, It's a few blocks from the beach which is nice and they ever gave me a 10% off coupon for the cafe. Stayed here during the off-season. It looks like it is a old appartement complex that was converted to a hotel. Rooms are small and sparse, but clean and comfortable. Our room was lacking some storage / shelves to put stuff on, but the ironing board fixed that problem! The walls are kinda thin, so you do hear the street noise, birds and other guests, but never to the level that is was bothersome. Never had a problem with parking and you can walk to the beach (just 2 buildings down). Village Cafe on the corner is convenient and while maybe a little bit pricey for what you get, the quality is good and you can't beat the convenience of it being right at the corner of the street. We visit Fort Lauderdale on a regular basis. We are a family of four but this past trip we had an extra person with us. It can be difficult to find a decent priced place for a family of five. We found Solas and we are so happy that we did!!! We stayed in a suite that had 2 queen beds and a king bed. The suite had more room than we could have asked for...it was great!!! Traveling with three teens can be tough but we all had our own space and loved it! The bathrooms were a bit dated but there were two of them in our suite so we were very happy!! We LOVED our extra space in the breeze way...it was great to leave all of our sandy items out there. Wish there was a bit of decor to the place but it was clean and thats what is important! Large accommodation, prime location & helpful employees. Apartment cleaned every day along with fresh towels towels and linen, pool towels freely available. A little dated compared to some accommodation in the area but that's reflected in the very reasonable price. Travelled as a family of 5 & loved it here, would definatly return.
