Smythe House Luxury Rooms

Perfectly located inn to enjoy a weekend (or longer) upstate. Our room was cozy, clean, and the bed was very comfortable. Love the DVD collection and DVD player in our room. It’s not always easy to find dog-friendly accommodations that aren’t a chain hotel or that tack on an extra pet fee, but we found that in Smythe House. This will be our regular place whenever we decide to get away for the weekend. Can’t recommend enough.

We recently stayed at the Barclay Heights Bed & Breakfast at Smythe House. I have only great things to say about our experience at this pet-friendly gem.| The eclectic rooms are comfy and impeccably clean. The grounds are naturally beautiful and spacious. | David and Justine are the most gracious of hosts and charming people. The gourmet breakfast selection and choice of beverages were fantastic along with the service. They even dog-sitted for us while going out. Our experience for my wife’s Birthday weekend was outstanding. We can’t wait to come back. Thanks again guys!

We had a lovely stay at the Smythe House, too bad we couldn't have stayed longer. We were in town for a wedding and so glad we stayed here instead of one of the chain hotels near the thruway. The house is very charming, the room was so pleasant, clean, and cozy. Justine was a wonderful host, it was nice to be able to text her and arrange a convenient check-in time as well as getting recommendations for where to stop for lunch. We will definitely stay here again, it's such a beautiful area to visit!

My husband and I spent a lovely weekend at the Smythe House in the Forest room to celebrate my husband's birthday. . The room was clean and cozy. Justine and David are wonderful hosts . Their breakfasts were awesome! The presentation was so lovely and the food was to die for! They were very helpful and knowledgeable in helping us plan our day. Justine and David made us feel right home and we had a fabulous time! Their home is warm and welcoming!!||We look forward to returning someday!!

We enjoyed our stay quite a bit. Very cozy and well-appointed room, felt very private and peaceful, but Justine was available when needed. I really appreciated all of her great restaurant recommendations. Location is good too - very quick, easy drive into town, plus near both Falling Waters and the Esopus Bend Reserve.
