We have stayed at this place possibly six times this summer and we love it. There are some unjust scathing reviews out here basing their view in comparison to five star hotels. My girlfriend and I love hiking in the Catskills and we stay at this place often as it is a short drive to most of our hikes. Don't expect a castle for the price of a mole hill. This can be best described as a rustic cabin sort of place. If you want a 5 star rated place be ready to pay over $300 per night on short notice. If you can't afford that and love a quaint little place with privacy, go ahead and book this place. The owner seems to try his best to take care of this huge property. It does need some updating as some people suggested but in my opinion I wouldn't change a thing. If he does renovate this place, ex

My fiancée and I stayed at the Red House Inn in Saugerties, NY: 7/18/14 - 7/24/14 while visiting family. We had a difficult time finding a hotel room due to a large horse show taking place in town. The Red House Inn had availability, close to our family, for $74.95 / night.||||The couple who ran the location were very kind and accommodating. Upon request they changed our reservation from a Queen room to a King room for the same $74.95 / night price. When we arrived, we couldn't help but be disappointed; the website pictures do not match the location.||||PROS: The sheets were cleaned and laundered. The towels and wash cloths were clean with a new batch provided daily. Working A/C unit in each room. ||||CONS: This motel is aging and run down. The exterior paint is faded and chippe

My friends and I wanted to go hiking in the Catskills so we came across this little motel in Saugerties. We don't like chain hotels that usually charge way more for what little you get. This place was a neat little find, pretty quiet, and the rooms are cabin-like. We didn't really know what to expect, but we found the place to be clean and homey. I'd recommend this place to anyone who doesn't want to spend a fortune to enjoy a little scenery.

The staff was friendly enough. The linen was clean as far as I could tell although worn and pilly. It is an elder Asian couple that runs it as far as I can tell. It looks like they have tried to do repairs and renovations within a budget but it has a long way to go. ||||We rented two rooms that we were told were adjoining. These rooms were actually adjacent with an adjoining balcony. On the balcony, there was a plywood divider between the two rooms on hinges that could be unlocked and opened. The balcony was on the second floor so it was relatively secure. I would have preferred the locking inner doors that typically connect adjoining rooms. This is a modification that can be done easily with the rooms we rented. Speaking of security there was only a single lock on the entry doors and our

The website makes it look like a nice enough mom-and-pop spot, but when we arrived it was clear that we should have maybe gone there in person first to inspect it. It was absolutly the most filthy, musty, humid, uncool place ever. And I have stayed at plenty of cheapie, no-frills places! This was quite the nightmare. Dirty carpets, trash and mouse droppings in the dressers, unfriendly staff, grotesque kitchenette, funky bedspreads, filthy and moldy bathroom (complete with stopped up sink and bloody phlegm on the ripped shower curtain), strange condensation all over the blinds (extremely high humidity probably created the mold and must?)...it looked and felt as if the people running the place took absolutely no pride in running the place. Which is such a shame, because it's located in a nic
