Slide Mountain Motel

Unfortunately, this motel was extremely dirty and poorly maintained. The room had visible black mold and large water stains on the ceiling, which was very unsettling. The bathroom was especially bad — the shower curtain was stained, the tub had grime and rust around the drain, and it clearly hadn’t been properly cleaned in a long time. The property is in desperate need of a major renovation. I attempted to take a shower, but honestly felt like I needed a second shower afterward just to wash off the grime from the environment. Everything felt old, worn, and neglected.||The motel is very outdated, and the mini-split barely worked, which made the stay uncomfortable. This place is a NIGHTMARE! It is absolutely disgusting. The room was not clean at all. Dust is caked on everything. The water reeks of rotten eggs and is certainly not safe to drink. Try showering if you can actually get the water to run hot and the whole room will smell of sulfur. Bed is uncomfortable. Body hairs in the tub. Tub very dirty. Fridge very dirty. This place also has long term residents with all their junk piled up on their "porches". Trailers parked out the back window. Stay away from this place!

For a hiker that just wants a budget, no frills safe and functional place to sleep - this fits the bill . It was a bonus to have a kitchenette because it really does help to keep my trip cost effective to make my own meals instead of ordering food . The firepit up front was also a nice bonus . It’s not fancy or updated but I can’t even complain about it - I slept comfortably and everything in the motel was functioning - kitchen, heat , hot water , etc . Location is also great - close to good hiking trails and businesses / restaurants .

If you're skiing for a few days or just looking for a place to stay in the area, and you're a no frills/on a budget kind of person, this is the place for you. It's got even more than I needed - I barely used the kitchen at all. There's definitely an old school roadside motel vibe (think Schitt's Creek), the furniture is fairly old, and the tv in the room was a top of the line model in 1993. But who cares? Kinda charming if you ask me. Ken, the owner, is very accommodating and friendly - even helped to shovel out my car after 7 or 8 inches of snow overnight.

Nice restored motel with a "homey" sort of feel. The rooms are well kept and clean. The kitchen includes all amenities. I like the location which is central to the attractions and destinations I enjoy. Ken the owner is extremely personable and friendly. I always enjoy my stay at the Slide Mountain motel and plan on returning for many years to come.
