Skyline Motel

Very peaceful, comfortable, and quiet. The couple running it are friendly, helpful, and always available when yoy need them, yet give you your space to live at the same time without being nosy or intrusive. Clean comfortable rooms, 7 minute walk to a Wal-Mart and a convenience store across the street. Also only a couple minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway and less than 10 min from Mill Mountain Zoo and star. Convenient, clean, bug free, quiet, safe, comfortable, and friendly!

We actually haven't stayed here before. But I am giving it 1 star because I called to make a reservation, only to be told they don't take them. This is the first time I've ever been told I can't make a reservation at a hotel!!! Was told I can call the week before I need the room to see if any are available, or drive up the day of and see if they have a room. Allegedly b/c they have people that stay a week or more, up to a month. I really wanted to give my money to a mom and pop type hotel, but I already know that there won't be a room available on a Friday night in Sept on the Blue Ridge Parkway (hence the 5 stars for location). Sadly I had to book at a chain hotel in Roanoke for that night. Oh well. I tried. I meticulously plan all of my road trips and need to book ages in advance

The staff were very friendly. The workers were very thorough and detailed in their work. They were also caring. Quiet, no craziness. Would recommend staying their and would stay again anytime. They also wanted to make sure everything was just right. Under new management.

Close access to the Highway. Clean rooms, good heat and air conditioning. Quite and safe neighborhood. Owner very Welcoming and fair prices.

Average small motel, good value stay for the price, no bugs, pretty clean. Beware if you have a service dog; the man at the front desk doesn't understand ADA law and tries to restrict service dog handlers to "staying one night only" in his words.
