Historic hotel so it's got a ton of character! Rooms were updated and nice but you can hear most everything with hallway and rooms next door. Creeky floors, steps and elevators as to the charm. Location is incredible for 'downtown deadwood'

Stopped in here to eat based on a recommendation by a local. Didn't stay in the hotel or gamble though. Restaurant is located is the lower level and is buffet style. Decent selection with generous portions (especially the prime rib) and a good dessert bar. Pricing was only about $27 so an affordable option at that price. Table service was very good. It was an off-time when there so only a couple of tables besides mine (small family, couple) were busy during my visit. Parking could be tricky when the downtown area i crowded but I found a spot about a block away. Going to have to stop in again if I come back to Deadwood.

Seriously disgusted. We stay in Deadwood more than 5 times a year. This was our first at the Franklin. My wife checked in and got 2 room keys. Hours later I checked in to get a key and greeted by a extremely rude staff member stating I was a woman beater. Then denied my key as it was listed under my name. After a back and fourth of puzzled conversation she then threatened to call the State Police. Flabbergasted I asked for the owners phone number then called him. He stated it was a training issue only after I was projected as some type of crimal. Remind you this is a 700 dollar 2 night booking only to be interrogated based on some crap that the hotel had issues with in the past?. I'm still puzzled as I am a direct person and will not be talked to in such a manner. The staff behind the coun

Machines were wound tight didnt win a thing. The buffett was definitely not what I remember. Crab was cold, rolls were dry, noodles were hard due to sitting out too long, dessert was also gross. And 100.00 for 2 of us. Don't mind paying that for good food.....

This hotel is a piece of History. It is renovated but still has the 1800's feel to it. The rooms are amazing, clean and comfortable beds. Front desk lady was really nice and helpful. The only con I saw was the parking, had to park in a lot behind the hotel, not an easy walk for an elderly or disabled person. I am yet to try their drinks and food . I hope I get to meet some ghosts at night. ☠️👻☠️
