Silver Thread Basecamp

Excellent campground. Nice spacious sites, very well maintained clean and tidy.Laundry room had lots of washers & dryers and was spotless. Being out of season the showers were closed but I’m sure they were also good. We actually stayed out of season so we had the whole campground to ourselves. The host Ryan was friendly and helpful. This has to be one of my favorite campgrounds and I’ve stayed at many. Highly recommended 👍

A very nice place, located on the banks of the Rio Grande River, to spend time enjoying the outdoors. The RV sites are spacious and easy to access. There is a small dog park but there is lots of room to walk with or without one’s dogs. Especially appealing was walking along the banks of the River. The staff were friendly and helpful and the small store was stocked with essentials such as rv water hose and Oxgen bottles for the flat landers. And ice. Finally, the park was within easy driving distance to South Fork, Creede and Lake City as well as Del Norte. It is great place to stay!

Very nice park. Sites are spacious. It has a rustic look with modern amenities. The covered wagons add a nice touch. A short 2 minute walk to the river adds to the experience. My dogs loved the Bark Park which is totally suitable for small dogs, no opportunity for escape. My only complaint is walking up stairs to get to the laundry room but that’s because I have old knees!

We loved this campground! We looked at other campgrounds in the area but were so glad we stayed here because of the trees, great park host and spacious level sites! My parents stayed in the covered wagons and really enjoyed the nostalgia. The campground was conveniently located to everything we wanted to do. South Fork has all your basic needs and within 3 miles of the campground! We will definitely be back.

I was looking for a peaceful, beautiful place for our last RV trip of the year. Silver Thread Basecamp was perfect! We got a spot on the water, the leaves were changing & it was awesome. The park is beautiful & full of trees. They are pet friendly & the park was extremely clean! We’ll be back!!!
