Silver City Mountain Resort

I don't often write reviews but I feel the need to add some alternative perspective to the many 4.5 star reviews. We booked this place with great expectations, not of luxury - we knew it was a cabin in the woods - but of rustic charm and quiet relaxation in the beauty of the forest. Looking at the pics from other reviewers, I feel like we stayed at a different place! Mentions of gas fireplaces and soaking tubs and pics of nice wood floors and bedding are so far removed from what we experienced, I wonder if they are actually from the same place. We stayed in Creekside cabin that had three beds shoehorned in - we were one couple so would have appreciated a cabin with one good bed and some relaxation area instead but that's a minor point. My wife and I spent 10 days at this resort and loved every minute of it. We stayed a few nights in “Monarch Lake” room, which was very cozy with its own Terrace - attached to the main building. The last 6 nights we spent in a private cabin “Franklin Pass”, perfect for couples. Beautiful location! Best appreciated if you like being remote, disconnected from the modern world and within great access to Wilderness and all the Nature that comes with it. There are many fantastic hikes nearby, many with great view points and a few with many of the iconic Giant Sequoia to see up close. The staff were very welcoming and genuinely engaging. My husband and I stayed with our seven year old for three nights in early July and absolutely enjoyed our time at Silver City Mountain Resort.||Yes, the drive to the resort is definitely more on the challenging side (over an hour to go 20 miles) and since we were in an EV car with limited charging nearby, we didn't explore via car too much once we made it to the resort. We decided to be overly cautious so didn't make it into Sequoia National Park as there seemed to be only one or two public charging stations toward Sequoia. Really a special place!! The service and friendliness of the staff made us feel like we were surrounded by family. The seclusion was amazing and we felt like we had the whole mountain to ourselves. Absolutely stunning views the whole time. Would definitely recommend Silver City!

This is a lovely little stay away from the crowds. We unfortunately had to leave a night early because the cabin we stayed in (cozy pines) was extremely dusty and we could not sleep. The road is also very difficult to go drive but doable. Wouldn’t recommend driving at night.
