Sideways Inn

Absolutely loved the atmosphere vibe, the very welcoming kind, honest hospitality services. The rooms were very clean, spacious for our family, property was very well maintained, nothing to complain about at all. Staff really upped their A-game! We are truly blessed, greatly appreciated to have a local hotel like them. Especially, when we are 5 hours away from our own home and are not locals of that area at all.||The location was so perfect to all the attractions of Solvang and nearby areas. 7-9 minutes to Solvang to 16 minutes drive to Nojoqui Waterfalls, and a 2+ hour drive starting at 530pm to Santa Barbara CA.

The employees are very nice and helpful. The hotel itself is older and it shows. It's time for a refresh. My room had a huge gap under my door and the shower head had very little water flow. Not much to do around the hotel with exception of the Sideways Lounge which will be the highlight of your stay..

Location was great right off the 101. Atmosphere was happy and friendly, seemed the staff wanted to be there. Beds were comfortable. Value was a bit high over $300 Friday and Saturday, then down to $135 on Sunday. Clean room with basic furniture like a fridge and microwave. No drawers for clothing just a closet with hangers. Noise level was minimal. Heated pool, nice spa, complimentary donuts, coffee/tea, cookies. I love that staff texted the next day to check on how we were doing and if they could assist in any way.

Positive: It was clean and convenient. Negative: The staff in their bar were not friendly nor very interested in helping us. If we needed something and asked, we would have ask multiple times. We had a question about the bill and the gentleman was very short and irritated when we asked to explain bill.

We only stayed for only one night as it was a convenient location to Solvang and a stop off point on our road trip from Anaheim to San Francisco. However it was a memorable stay and we enjoyed it very much. The room was big and the bed was comfortable, and we had a great nights sleep after a long drive. For dinner we ate at the nearby California Tacos Cantina and Distillery where I had the best birria tacos ever. In the morning we went to Mother Hubbard’s Restaurant for an excellent Steak and Eggs breakfast. Also the Sideways Inn has the best hotel gym I’ve ever visited. Barbells and dumbbells, a cable machine with all attachments and of course all the usual cardio equipment.
