San Marcos Motel

The San Marcos Motel was a pleasant surprise. I visted Santa Barbara for a wedding, on a tight budget. Hotels in the SB area were way above my budget so I decided to look for something "cheap" outside of town. Well, the price might be considered "cheap" compared to the average $250/nights elsewhere, but the experience was far from it. The room was cozy, very clean and the biggest surprise was the walk-in shower. Ray was excellent in service. Plus, Bulletton is a nice town, with warm people. About 15 minutes away is a small town called Solvang. Be sure to visit there if you happen to be in the arear. I would definitely stay at the San Marcos again, tight budget or not.

SAN Marcos Motel was a great place to spend our night. The room was a good size even with the king sized bed. The room had a small refrigerator with a separate freezer. There was an area to hang clothes and to stow the luggage. There was also a separate single chair for relaxing and a desk wit a chair which was great place to use the laptop. The bathroom had a toilet, a single sink and an enclosed shower. The hotel is in a quiet area away from the loud highway and bars. Very peaceful. Will look at this place to rent on our next trip

We decided to take a last minute trip to Solvang and nearly every hotel in the area was taken or really expensive. We decided to roll the dice on the San Marcos Motel. There were no reviews but it was available and relatively cheap... usually not a good sign. We were pleasantly surprised by this motel. Everything is clean and well kept. No Wi-Fi but the bed is great! Can’t go wrong here.

I would discrive as a great value. The motel is old , but the staff do a great job to keep cozy and clean. I met Ray a wonderful human being. He provided the best service i could ever asked. People like Ray makes me come back again. Thanks Ray!!

Ray the owner was very nice and attentive, and gave my wife and I great advice for visiting Solvang. Rooms were very clean, bed was very comfortable, overall a great stay! Will definitely be back if we’re in the area. Thanks Ray!
