Showboat Resort Atlantic City

This was by far not the best hotel experience. There was always a long line for the elevator. Out of six elevators, only three were working at first, then it went down to two, and eventually just one. For such a large hotel that makes so much money, this is unacceptable. I stayed on the 16th floor, and the ice machine on my floor didn’t work. I was told it only worked on three floors in the entire building. I also found someone’s earrings in the bed, which made me question the cleanliness. The shower head was poor quality, several outlets barely worked, the heat didn’t work properly, and the lights were very dim. Positive: The price was great for the area. The room was clean and check-in was easy. Negative: $25 for parking was outrageous!! A discount should have been applied or offered for overnight guests.

We originally booked one night at a casino hotel, but had to switch plans when we needed to bring children. We chose the Showboat for its advertised family friendly atmosphere. The waterpark itself is very nice, but the water was freezing. Every single slide felt like ice water, which really took away from the experience. We booked two conjoining rooms and I will say the rooms were clean, comfortable, and well kept, which we appreciated. Unfortunately, the biggest issue was the elevators. Out of five or six elevators, only one was working. The wait times were extremely long, especially when trying to get to and from the parking garage. The waterpark was cool nice, but the setup for the bathroom is extremely small for the amount of people it has to accommodate. The gift shop should not be located in the park area it should be outside of the park to make more room for restrooms and lockers. The hotel rooms were decent but the beds were so hard the next morning I was sore. The pillows were too soft and the beds didn’t have any type of covering on it just plain bed and sheets. We stayed on the 5th floor and had to go up 2 floors just to get ice. There were no food options onsite after leaving the waterpark so we had to leave the resort and then had to pay for parking again which I feel is ridiculous. Perfect for kids and families. The arcade is long. I love how all the kids amenities are all together on the first floor (Arcade, waterpark, roller skating, go karts plus 2 place to get a quick bite (pizza, salads, wraps, sandwiches)...PLUS 2 bars on the first floor. Easy parking (not free) casino is closed but you can walk to the hard rock hotel or the ocea hotel (very short walk). Spacious room and bathroom. Clean towels and bedsheets.
