Shoalnook Cabins

A Perfect Weekend Getaway—Peaceful, Spacious, and Full of Fun Our family had an unforgettable weekend at Shoalnook, we can’t recommend it highly enough. From the peaceful surroundings to the thoughtful touches throughout the cabin, everything about our stay made it easy to relax and connect as a family. The cabin we stayed in was spacious, clean, and comfortable—plenty of room for our family of four, including two teenagers. We loved the open kitchen and living area, which gave us space to hang out, cook, and unwind. The beds were great, the views were beautiful, and the quiet atmosphere was just what we needed. One of the highlights was floating the James River—Shoalnook provides kayaks, which made it easy and fun to enjoy the water together. We also spent time exploring the nearby hiking

My family rented the four cabins at Shoalnook this summer for four nights. The landscape is absolutely gorgeous, and the cabins are clean, quaint, and cozy. A lovely, shady beach next to the river is just a short walk from the cabins, and that is where we spent much of our time. The swimming and fishing is terrific, and we even used the provided kayaks! We also spent a lot of time around the fire pit, and lounging on the spacious cabin porches. The interior of each cabin can sleep six to eight, with a unique loft and modest kitchen. Definitely camping at it's finest! Shoalnook is sure to be a family tradition for years to come!

This is our 2nd time coming down. The cabins work great, location is cool, prices are great and everything has gone perfect both times we've been here.

Clean, fascinating, set up with delightful aspects for a fun country stay! Even down to the horseshoe game down the hill from the cabin and the basket of games in the kitchen. The children and I loved the loft! Such a delightful place to play and sleep! The beds so comfortable! The porch is my other favorite place with it's wide veranda type, long bench and high table and stool all made of fascinating smooth wood, with the rustic charm!

The owners were very friendly and went out of there way to make our stay enjoyable. We are kayakers and we loved the James river! The cabins are only about 30 minutes from Branson, so we enjoyed a show one evening. There isn't a TV in the cabin so enjoy the games they have available or bring a good book to read on the front porch.
