Horsecreek Ranch & Retreat

This is s what used to be the upper half of old camp Tomahawk. The new owners have fixed it up way nicer. The roads have been upgraded, and were watered regularly while i was there to keep the dust down. New bathroom/bathhouse facilities, groomed grass, new cabin rentals..... Etc, etc. They offer a 2 mile float from upstream back to camp and a 6 mile float from camp down stream, with shuttle service available. The shuttles even have AC. Give them a try, go meet Presley and Cody, very nice couple, the new owners. Met them both, very nice personally. This place is far and above the place nextdoor. Will be my new go to far semi local camping.

We had an absolute blast this weekend!! There was about 20 of us doing our annual family reunion camp/float trip. The employees were super nice and very accommodating! The campsites were right across from the water so it was great for the kids and we had plenty of trees and shade. The bathrooms and showers were always clean and kept very nice. We will deffinately be back... it's our new favorite camp spot!

It was a beautiful camping area. Not too crowded. The cleanest private bathroom and shower I have ever seen. It even has a water softener!!! The campsites are nice and large, and easy access to the water. We will definitely be back! The rafts were comfortable. And a very smooth float. Thank you!!!

Horsecreek Ranch in Galena MO is a brand new resort with camping, beautiful cabin-condos, new bath/shower house, and sits right on the James River. We could literally walk down a short hill and step into the river. This property is breathtaking, from the welcome house down to the campgrounds. The campsites are spacious, surrounded by gorgeous huge shade trees. The river banks have been meticulously maintained. Our group was provided brand new rafts, and this part of the James is clean, wide and beautiful. The staff and owners were so kind and accommodating. 10 stars, highly recommend!

If you guys get a chance, you need to check this campground out top notch! The staff was wonderful, especially Hanna A+ they made sure if we needed anything. They were there for us. We floated with a big group close to 30 people camped at their facilities. Can’t wait to come again and float with them. We have flooded many of different rivers in a few different states over the last 30 years. This was the best especially the bus ride! River was beautiful.
