Shilo Inns Salem

I was pleasantly surprised by the rooms — they were better than I expected. I didn’t go in anticipating a luxury experience, but the accommodations were clean, comfortable, and relatively quiet, which made for a nice stay. There was also plenty of parking available, making it convenient. The only downside was that some booking sites still list a pool as an amenity, but it’s no longer operational and has been filled in with concrete. Updating that information would help set clearer expectations for future guests.

This hotel is a little old but the bed was comfy and the room was big and clean. It's hard to see from Market Street because there's no big sign on the building that you can see from the street. But - it's definitely worth looking for because it has the nicest staff you'll ever find. You know - anyone with money can buy a building and put furniture in it but not everyone can hire a great staff and keep them. We had really good service from Ms Nivert who was the Acting manager during our stay and we had really great service from Cassia...who went out of her way to make certain we were happy. When I needed something for our room late at night Cassia went to the upstairs storage room and found what I needed and offered me some more coffee which I hadn't asked for but gladly accepted. This is one of the best places I have stayed in Salem even without a smoking room i would definitely stay again. All the employees were very kind and helpful as well they were very helpful in my most time of need going through Chemo and stage 4 cancer. I can't say thank you enough. You are all appreciated so much. Keep up the good work !!!

Positive: "" Negative: The first one we checked into smelled like cigarette smoke severely, but the front desk was able to change us rooms. However, still inconvenient.

Booked a stay here for my spouse and son while they were traveling- they called me from the parking lot refusing to even get out of the truck. Looks like a run down and abandoned housing project. Forfeit our fees and go elsewhere was the decision... don't waste your money.
