Sheraton Kauai Resort

We stayed here for 4 nights. It is located at an awesome location. There is a beach where you can see monk seals, body surf, surf, relax, take long walks, etc. There are activities throughout the day to keep you busy if you don’t want to leave the resort like lei making, pond fishing (kids), and hula lesson. We went during a school holiday and it was very busy. If you are not there early, the beach chairs are gone. You can pay for a beach lounge for 85/day. If you Marriott elite members, you get discount on hot breakfast or free continental breakfast. We got free bodyboard rental and a room upgrade. The downside to the resort is the room is outdated for the price you pay. It is an older building, so the AC is old and it is very loud. It is almost like sleeping with a small generator that g

This resort has mixed reviews so I was a bit concerned. Upon check in the staff were helpful and arranged a room change and gave us a box of chocolate macadamia nuts. The room was clean and quiet. As noted the rooms are small and I wouldn't want to stay in a 1 bedroom with 4 people as there would not be room to move in the living area. The kitchens are very well equipped to make meals and there were sufficient BBQs available. We were concerned about eating at the counter but got used to it. In room laundry was a welcome bonus. We had a partial ocean view but not many rooms do - most look at the pool or garden. We loved the fact that the pool was not busy during the day - the main Sheraton pool is not large and can be crowded. Reading and relaxing by the quiet pool was wonderful. We

Positive: Location was fabulous. Our room had a perfect view of the ocean and the pool. Negative: Hotel charged our credit card every night to the tune of $--- over 6 days. We went to the front desk 4 times to resolve it and no one could answer why it was happening. The manager gave us a credit for the restaurant but it wasn’t worth it.

We stayed here for a week right after Christmas and had a wonderful time. The resort has an amazing location right on the beach. The pool and hot tub were nice. We were always able to find chairs even when coming down later in the day. ||Food at both Lava and RumFire were good. Service was also friendly and nice. The Platinum breakfast benefit is ok, only worth $16 discount for 2 people total if you order hot items. ||It’s an older hotel, but we had no complaints at all about our room. It was a good size for our family with kids.||I don’t understand these recent negative reviews. I think some people are confused by the timeshare side of the hotel (across the road away from ocean). Or they expect Four Seasons level service, if they want that-go ahead and pay quadruple the prices and enj

Hotel side is better than the apartment side. Not impressed with it. No refrigerator, kitchen or microwave. Beautiful island.....Burgers at Lava's were excellent. Pricey, but of good quality. Plenty of places to eat in the surrounding area along with incredible botanical gardens around the corner.
