Shady Grove Campground

Absolutely gorgeous campground! We ended up booking about a week or two before our stay as a last resort, but we're so glad we picked this place! We stayed Wednesday night to Sunday morning in the tent loop. Wednesday-Friday morning were extremely private, we were the only ones in the tent loop. Friday night some other families started showing up, but it was still quiet since the sites are pretty far away from each other! My only gripe about noise was you're across the water from Margaritaville and a resort, which means you can hear music from the distance at night. I loved the site we picked because you couldn't see our tent from the road and we got a gorgeous view of the lake through the trees. The staff was all very nice and we bought firewood every night. This is our go to “lake house” camping campground. In the past we traveled hours away from home but it never made sense because Shady Grove was our favorite and only a 30min drive. We’ve been going for years. We have a 31ft 5th wheel so must be selective of our sight making sure there is room for our opposing slide outs and relatively level. Prior we had a Class A. There are only a few spots suitable for large rigs so pay attention to that. Beautiful campground. Lots of deer roaming. Perfect for our quick getaway from the mountains to the lake. Darlene saved the day! We needed some help with our reservation we submitted online and Darlene went above and beyond to help us out. Can’t get over how wonderful the customer service is at shady grove. Great campground, great people.

This is our go-to campground when traveling to GA to visit our son. The campground is beautiful, with deer roaming the lovely, wooded grounds. We've been staying here for years and have enjoyed every site we've had.
