We had a wonderful stay at the Schoolhouse Canyon Campsite. Campsite number 3 was beautiful, with a lovely little spot in the trees for the tent and another spot for the fire and dining. All the facilities (showers, restrooms, wash sinks) were exceptionally clean and the whole campsite was just really well taken care of. There is a little private way to the river which makes it perfect for an activity with kids. Chris and his wife (apologies I forgot your name!) are so welcoming and you can tell they genuinely like what they do. The only thing is that the road is not far off so you can sometimes hear cars but nothing much during the night - it doesn't take away from the beauty of this campsite.

This is absolutely the dreamiest campground on the Russian River. The campground itself is deeply cared for (spotless bathrooms/showers and meticulously maintained sites), but the best parts are the gorgeous walking trails, orchard and idyllic riverfront. The owners work hard to keep it sweet and serene. While alcohol is permitted as long as you keep it low-key, "drunkenness" and rowdiness aren't welcome, which is SO NICE. It's just such an easy, lovely mini-vacay spot, we can't stop coming back.

First time camping here and I was blown away. Chris and his wife were super friendly and took care of our group from the very first phone call to reserve a site, to check-in, and even when we left. Yes, the place has rules, but they keep out the rowdy crowd. The bathrooms were spotless and cleaned multiple times a day and the campgrounds were spotless. River access is right across the road. There are cars, but it’s simple to just wait for a quick break before crossing. It’s not a big deal and is an opportunity to teach your kids about how to cross a 2 lane road with traffic. Plus, it's a long straight away so you can see traffic/cars coming way ahead. I’d recommend booking in the adult section if you want less kid noise. The only trade-off is the bathrooms are about a two-minute walk sinc

Was my first time camping in the woods. Such an amazing starter. We had lot 30 which was very private. We got to see a family of deer pass by while we had the fire pit going. Pretty magical moment. The river is conveniently right across the road. The river was probably my favorite part of the whole trip. I was sad to have to come back home.🤣 Thank you Chris with the booking! We'll be back some day!

This was my first time going camping and I don’t think I could ever be satisfied with another campground. The site was shaded with beautiful redwoods, it’s in a valley so you can let the kids roam free, and the owners are super nice. I’ve heard some horrible camping stories from friends, family, and online forums, but I could never imagine anything bad happening at this campground. The bathrooms were nicer than bathrooms at some hotels I’ve stayed at, the campsite was the perfect size for what I wanted, and there was a large range of options for which site I wanted to choose. The owners work to keep the place nice every single day and they’re very nice to talk to. There are 3 beautiful beaches less than a 5 minute walk from the campground and they weren’t crowded at all. Every site comes w
