Safari Motel

Big room, some outdated features, light in vanity a little rewired and hot water took a bit but was posted to the effect. Ice machine was broken so the owner went to the store and bought ice for us. That was beyond expected. Very nice. Dogs were only 10 extra which is the best rate we paid. Overall I would stay again. Rooms were nice and bed was comfortable.

Front desk was extremely helpful and kind, property is just quite old and there is virtually no upkeep. AC worked wonderfully well, but room was dingy, paint pealing, cigarette burn in the coverlet. Sheets and other bedding very clean. Smelled so we bought a candle to burn. Rate was so low it was worth it.

The room was filthy. Only 1 plug in the room worked, none in the bathroom area. The wiring looked sketchy. The odor in the room was terrible. I was afraid to take a shower as the bathroom was dirty. I think they very superficially clean. Needs through deep cleaning. Everything was run down, and there is no kitchen, there is an old microwave and office refigerator. Do not stay there, no matter how cheap. Sleep in your car before you sleep there. Curtains did not fit window, paint was chipped and the last time they painted they got paint on everything. I bet nothing has been changed since the 60's. I often stay at small hotels and have wonderful experiences but this was not one of them.

I’d like to thank this family for supplying affordable motel rooms for a traveller on a budget super friendly super safe. The wonderful thing about this particular motel as you can park right in front of your room and walk into it something we look for all the time. It’s easy to whine and complain rather than give compliments. I would rather stay in a budget motel like this that’s family run than a square box that you have to park in a field carry all of your stuff into an elevator go up multiple floors and having to listen to people all around you I wish you all the best in the upgrading of your Motel and thank you for the accommodations.

First, you need to understand that this place is old. They seem to be upgrading a little at a time, but these things take time. Dave at the front office was kind and understanding. Request were filled with politeness. I'll bet that this place is probably cleaner than higher end places, it just doesn't look like it. I just hope they replace the beds soon. They are a little hard. Other than that, it seems like a great place.
