Russell's Motel

This has been our best stay in Maine! We had a $250+/night room elsewhere that... should have given a refund! Here, we were greeted so kindly, given numerous suggestions for activities, sights, eateries, etc and made to feel like old friends visiting. Their rooms are a little worn but clean. There's a fridge with freezer compartment, microwave, shower/tub (Plenty of hot water!!), wifi, 4-cup coffee pot, and cable TV. (No blower dryer!) It was very quiet. We definitely would stay again.

Positive: Quiet peaceful location but out of town away from attractions. Friendly staff who allowed me to check in early to accommodate plans to make afternoon and evening events elsewhere. Negative: It was a fair price with clean rooms but not much near by and lacks food and drink options in the complex.

Russell’s is a classic motel: two one-story banks of rooms with parking spaces in front of each room. However, it was much cleaner and better tended than most motels I’ve seen, and nothing smelled musty or funky. Everything was in good condition, including an A/C unit controlled by a remote. A decorative bundle of towels on the bed and a discreet tip envelope for housekeeping indicated careful planning and extra effort. We were looking for a safe and comfortable place to spend the night while on a road trip, and Russell’s was just right.

What an amazing stay! For 7 nights, I got an amazing value for it! The location is very quiet, just being able to sit on the bench outside of my room, watching the sunsets were absolutely beautiful! The rooms are very nice and comfy, clean and it made the home away from home, just great! There were some mornings where it got down to the upper 40's for low temperatures, which meant keeping the windows open and letting in that crisp, cool air, that was great as well! I want to thank Sheena, the owner and the staff for everything! Take care!

Everyone we met was very friendly and professional. We got to have a conversation with the owners and their sweet sweet dog. They made us feel right at home, even making our kids day with all the fun toys in the office. The rooms were very clean, gave a nice cabin aesthetic, and the setting sun painted the sky across the street in pinks and oranges which was visible from the room. Next time we stop by, we will be staying here. 10/10
