Rough Trail and Swift Camp Creek Trailhead Parking

From Koomer ridge campground this trail is rated moderately difficult. There are seven creek crossing that means decline in elevations and inclines back up to the ridge line. Steep switchbacks up and down. A few trees have fallen across the path. Path can be tricky depending on weather conditions. It’s a beautiful and amazing hike lush foliage covers this forest the trees provide shade. Amazing rock features and boulders throughout. 8.5 miles for rough trail. There are other connecting trails so your hike can go longer.

Rough trail for a reason. The road leading there is pretty cool as one feels like they are on an off road adventure. The trail itself is not that difficult to hike but has lots of thick bushes and fir its distance is quite tiring. If you have a weaker phone provider, you may have no internet access

Extremely beautiful trail, although aptly named. It's a lot of climbing depending on how far you take it but it takes you into very different looking mini-biomes. At the lowest altitude we felt like we were in a rainforest (we went in December), and at the highest it looked like highland desert. My glutes were dying by the time we set up camp (we made it to a creek where it connects to other trails) but I definitely felt like I got the most bang for my buck as far as scenery goes.

Very beautiful place, excellent places to camp if you like to rough it. You are definitely out of the way here, a little ways to travel for supplies it's better to have what you need.
