Rooster Comb Inn

This excellent gem is nestled in the heart of the high peaks region of the Adirondacks in Keene Valley. Centrally located to pristine hiking/climbing/skiing/snowshoeing. Warm, welcoming, knowledgeable staff. Spotlessly clean!!!! Downstairs, a roaring fireplace, surrounded by Stickley-style chairs with ottomans, made for an extremely welcoming post-adventure relaxation spot to share adventure stories with other like minded travelers, who quickly become your friends. :D Well appointed kitchen upstairs with everything you could need, including travel mugs! Super dog friendly. I am happy to report the beds are perfect. Rooms are well furnished with natural wood furniture with numerous places to hang your gear. A fantastic place to stay, in the heart of Keene Valley. It was immediately obvious that the innkeepers take great care of the space. The Inn was very clean and fresh smelling, and I appreciated that they use eco friendly cleaning products, as well as provide recycling and compost recepticles in the kitchen area. The furnishings were comfortable and the rooms were thoughtfully decorated with towels beautifully folded on the beds. We chose the Roostercomb Inn due to its dog friendliness, location, and affordability. I think Magdelena has created a real gem for travelers of all kinds- from hikers just looking for a bed to sleep in to couples and families looking for a relaxing retreat. Party of 4 booked the Spread Eagle room for 3 nights around the Juneteenth holiday. We arrived around 1pm on Thursday, and were able to find the host as soon as we parked, and get the key to our room. We checked out Sunday morning. Paid little over 500 bucks, which is a great price for 4 beds. During the day, it would get very hot outside, especially Saturday was very humid because of rain, and then, it was a bit uncomfortable inside without any air-conditioning. We were able to borrow some table fans for use inside the room. There is a shared refrigerator and kitchen area, and a wooden bench to sit and work from if you wish. There's a big restroom with washer-dryer on the top floor, and another toilet next to it. The washer-dryer are for use by the housekeeper only. There are separate toi

What a lovely relaxed experience! I just spent two nights at the Rooster Comb Inn this past weekend. This is the perfect hiker spot. It feels like a hiker lodge or hostel where you can come and go as needed. Self-check in and rooms ready. Communal kitchen (and outdoor grill) so bring your own groceries if you want or there is a nice diner literally two doors down the street and a small market and also a dinner spot two blocks away. The little town of Keene Valley is super cute and has the essentials. Magdalena the innkeeper is wonderful. I’ll be back again for sure. If you want a full B&B experience there is a B&B up the road but for a hiker who gets up early and wants a self-serve lodge experience this is it! Perfect. I loved sitting on the porch. -Jeffrey

I have stayed a few times at the Rooster Comb Inn while hiking the nearby peaks, and Magdalena has been an excellent host every time. The rooms and common spaces are always immaculately clean, and the amenities are top notch. Late check-in is always a breeze when arriving later at night, and being pet friendly is very helpful when travelling with furry friends. Can't recommend this Inn enough!
