Rodeway Inn Red Wing

For the price, this hotel is everything you’d need. Yes, the building’s facade does look a bit dated, but the interior is pretty modern and average. If you’re a prissy one who’s used to the pampering of a Hilton or Hyatt experience, this likely won’t be “up to par,” but for a safe, clean, affordable place to sleep at night, this is amongst the better options of the area. Additionally, the clerk at the front desk was very accommodating to our needs and requests, and was incredibly friendly!

Stayed here on our road trip across the country. The hotel is located in Red Wing, MN behind a bar whose parking lot was filled with pot holes. No one was at the front desk the entirety of our stay and the only time we saw an employee was after ringing the bell at the front desk. The room itself was below standard. It smelled musty and was weirdly humid. The bed was on a creaky metal frame and the floor was extremely dirty. I woke up constantly hearing a clicking noise, but I’m not sure what it was or what in the room could have been making that kind of noise. The toilet seat was cracked and stained and the shower floor was uneven with some parts feeling lumpy while others felt like it was about to cave in. This was my first time at a Rodeway Inn and I was Skeptical. The building has recently been painted and there was a handyman working with the manager to do a few things so I can see they are doing work around the property. The place smelled fine. My room was fairly clean. Sheets were old but clean, no stains. The AC unit was brand new. Furniture wasn't in bad shape. The tub was clean but you can tell it hadn't been truly scrubbed in a while. For the price it really wasn't all that bad. However, and not the hotels fault, I've never been more disturbed in my sleep as I was here. This is a terrible hotel. The sign is falling down -broken. Ratty lose carpet, frayed cording in carpet hallways, hair on the sheets, old chipped toliet seat; air unit too high on wall to adjust and reach, entryway tacky, junky, plants out front bad, missing. This is no way worth $160 per night!!! Hoping for a refund. Very poor condition and should not be open. Pool closed for over a year we were told!!!
