Riverview Lodge

This place has some positives and some negatives. You get what you pay for. The price is solid for the experience. Great Location with access to the river and walking around town. The room we stayed in needs some deep cleaning and maybe some work and refinishing in some key areas. I enjoyed day dreaming about owning it and remodeling the room we stayed in while there. If was remodeled it would cost more and I might end up somewhere else with other complaints to be had. We stayed during the winter and the heater worked great.

Nice stop for a night on the road. The lodge is an older property, but you can tell there's been a lot of work put in to make it nice and comfortable. The river is right there so the family can enjoy a nice dip. Restaurants are close by. The only caution is the AC is very loud. I carry ear plugs, so was not an issue for me.

To be honest the place is old. Of course you could use the adjective rustic. But there was terrible water hammer when running the hot water. They canceled our reservation on Expedia and then made us rebook it through them. I'm sure that was just to save the commission. I wasn't happy about that. On the plus they are dog friendly and a super easy close walk to the downtown stuff. And they are right on the river. We will try someplace else next time we go through Kernville

My partner and I stayed one night at this Lodge and was very disappointed in our experience. Let's first define rustic: 1. relating to the countryside; rural. 2.made in a plain and simple fashion. Neither of these means nasty or dirty. To start the rooms are very dirty, my partner moved the bedside table to set up his CPAP machine and we found a layer of dirt on the floor and a very thick layer of dust on the wall behind the bedside table. When I went to take a shower when I turn the water on it made the whole bathroom smell like pee which tells me they never clean the bathroom floors around the toilet there was also a thick layer of dust on the baseboards in the bathroom which confirms those suspicions, and as I scooted the bed to chase after a lost sock we discovered the giant dust bunni

Great stay! They have a private lounge area next to the River. A few barbecues for guests to use outside. The owner and staff are very hospitable would recommend to friends and family. We'll be returning in the future!
