Piazza's Pine Cone Inn

I love this vintage hotel, and I loved Kernville! The rooms are lovely and roomy and clean. There were complimentary cookies in our room! The owner is so friendly and cheerful that it made my day. The pool is beautiful and inviting. Also, If you go to Kernville, be sure to have breakfast at Cheryl's Diner!

I stayed here twice while traveling to and from Death Valley. Both nights I arrived after 10pm but the owner was accommodating for my late arrival. This accommodation and ease was why I chose to stay here again on my way back through the area. The rooms are cozy, with some ornamental furnishings and designs, the place was very quiet, the grounds are cute, and I spent too much time in the local saloons the night before that I didn’t wake up in time to try out their continental breakfast. The cookies and water were a nice added touch. I happily devoured all of it.

My family and I were able to book the 2 bedroom suite the same day we called. We wanted to freshen up and go for a swim after 3 days of camping. We weren’t expecting much from a motel but holy moly, the suite exceeded our expectations. The decoration was amazing and blew us away. It felt luxurious. And the bathroom looked great too, with a rainfall showerhead and a light-adjustable vanity mirror. Kylie helped us book the room and she was very nice. And as soon as we got there, someone else showed us the way to the room. The motel includes: a billiards table, a pool that goes from 3ft to 9ft, a sweet resident dog named “Matilda” that roams the property, and a grill. Great little gem of a motel we were lucky to stumble across. Kylie was friendly and helpful booking us a room and finding a place we could park our truck and trailer. The room was much larger than expected and well appointed.I’ve been in many a 3-star hotel that wouldn’t hold a candle to Pinecone. We are definitely putting this on the list for the next Sierras trip, hopefully for a longer stay than just the one night traveling through.
