Riverside RV Park

Nice small RV campground close to town, hiking, Heaven’s Gate Lookout, Hell’s Canyon, Salmon River. Campground runs along the Little Salmon River/Creek. Gravel sites, full hookups, good wifi and great cell reception. Grass at sites on the river. No bathrooms, laundry or other facilities. Must be self contained. We were in 40ft class A and it was a tight fit. Better suited for 30-34ft and under vehicles. Reservations are only by phone and payment is in cash either in advance by check through snail mail if made far enough out, or, by cash through a pay station. Reservation organization was not great. We booked for 3 nights and were told a riverside site was only available for 2 nights and we’d have to move. No problem. Owner emailed the 2 site numbers after we made the reservation by phon

This was the best RV park we have stayed in on our camping trip from Montana to San Diego. The owner is constantly maintaining it and he is so friendly. He actually gave us some fresh tomatoes from his garden. |There are also peach trees along the river as well as grapes growing and apple trees etc.|The town has a population of 480 people. In the summers it is a river rafting town. We ate breakfast and lunch at Bert and Kate’s. Delicious food and many lunch options at Kate’s. Met some really nice locals.|Also had wonderful pizza at another restaurant.|We also swam at a beach area around the bend of the river. And our dog enjoyed it too. |We purchased some Bison and Elk meat at a meat store near the beach area. |Take a drive around the river it’s absolutely gorgeous!

We loved staying here for two nights the first part of July. The heat was bad but being by the river made it 10 degrees cooler. Wonderful host. Very clean and quiet. Great full hookups and WiFi. The sound of the river was calming and relaxing. Because of the steep incline to the river and limited fencing I would be cautious of bringing small children here or be prepared for intense supervision. No toilets… must be self contained. Would 100% visit here again.

We had a wonderful stay at the Riverside RV Park. Bob was amazing and so welcoming. He helped us out with our hook-ups and was friendly every single morning. This is definitely a choice spot next to the river and kept so clean. We love that it was close to the store, gas station and a couple of great restaurants that we were able to try. We hope to return again for our off-road adventures. Thanks again! Patricia & Dave
