Riptide Beach Club

Been coming here for more than 30 years. I believe the same stained couch is still in the room from the early 90s. Fees go up annually here recently but updates are far and few between. Staff is super polite, friendly and helpful, but rarely same folks the next trip through. Took away beach towels, outside grills, and eliminated the separation of hot tub and pool fencing, no communication of these changes to owners prior to our arrival. Location is ideal, beach front and overall cost for a week makes it an option. Time to start upgrading rooms, furniture and appliances for the fees that's required to stay there per week. The sales guy is quite creepy and lacks follow through.

Where do I start: the whole experience was really unpleasant from the beginning. As we checked in the smell of vomit was overwhelming that my son ended up vomiting after being nauseated by the smell. The floors of the room were dirty not swept or mopped. The room smelled of must and mildew, the couches were stained, the window upstairs was broken and created a draft, the carpet looked like it had never been vacuumed or steamed, the towels smelled awful and were not clean. The worst part was the leak in the upstairs bathtub. Code enforcement needs to shut down this place. The whole experience was absolutely unacceptable.

Great location. Fall asleep to the sound of the waves. Quiet bldg. Looked like new couches & some appliances. Towel & trash service daily & 2tv's in a 1 bedroom, both, highly unusual at a time share. It was very clean. Did not see 1 bug, not even on the balcony. All the staff was very pleasant & helpful. Pools were clean. Low rise, some activities. Steps to the beach. Outside rocking chairs. Speedy elevator. Walked to food shops,etc. Could see Broadway on the Beach Friday nite fireworks from my balcony in D bldg. Very happy w my stay.

Rooms are a bit older, some are more updated than others. Cute new teal/yellow sofas in one room, older fabric in others. Updated kitchen cabinets, stove top made easy to cook meals and save money. Only downside is floors could be a bit more clean, feels like they are mopped but need a harder scrub. Front office is very nice and maintenance was super responsive to all our needs.

As a handicapped person we were told there was an elevator but the 2 bedrooms were upstairs which I could do once a day. There are at 5 least stairs to the elevator. If you take the elevator up then we had to walk down about 5 stairs. Or we can skip the elevator and just walk up 2 flights of stairs. Useless elevator. This building is not Accessible compliant! No balcony. No ocean view. No laundry. Oh I could go on..
