Residence Inn by Marriott Fort Lauderdale Intracoastal/Il Lugano

We have been staying at this location for 15 plus years and are very happy. The staff is wonderful and very helpful. In particular Wendy and her housekeeping staff do a terrific job. One suggestion I would made is to cancel Dish tv. They do not cover NBC or great tv like Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune. Very confusing tv service provider. SINCE OUR COMPLAINT ABOUT DISH TV SANDY THE NEW PROPERTY MANGER SOLVED THE ISSUE WITH DISH. THANK YOU SANDY.

Positive: The location was the best thing about the hotel Negative: The breakfast was horrible. Sundays breakfast was acceptable - after that it was bad. Basically all that was offered was toast

We had a completely unacceptable experience at Residence Inn and feel compelled to warn other travelers. We requested early check-in in advance and received confirmation that it was approved. When we arrived, our room was not ready. We decided to wait at the pool, which was visibly dirty and poorly maintained. At the guaranteed 4:00 PM check-in time, our room was still not ready. We were told housekeeping was behind. After waiting 20 more minutes in wet bathing suits, we were informed that “VIP guests” who selected late check-out were being prioritized over us. That explanation was both shocking and unprofessional. After another 30 minutes, we were told housekeeping was still cleaning and that we were being moved to a water-view room. We did not get into our room until 5:40 PM — nearly two

The suite, location, and staff were good. Not new but good condition. Nothing to get excited about but good. The immediate neighborhood is residential condos. I would say a better location for a business traveller or a group that just needs lots of space. The restaurant was closed and appeared to be undergoing a renovation. The breakfast had no hot food like eggs and sausage like the usual R Inn breakfast, only prepackaged stuff. The rate dropped shortly before my stay and I rebooked to get the lower rate. That should have tipped me off, but there was no notice on the Marriot website the restaurant was closed. That information should have been available.

Our room had a huge balcony and faced the intercoastal waters so the view was dynamic, serene at times and lively at other times. The only thing I didn't like about the room was the shower; the water temperature took too long to heat up. There are several restaurants within walking distance as well as the Water Taxi. The room was clean as well as the common areas. The top floors had residential units. There was plenty of city parking but there was also valet with a secure parking deck. The beach is within walking distance as well as a Walgreens and a Publix. I definitely recommend!
