Residence Inn by Marriott Boston Needham

Before I write my review, I think people need to know that Marriott is offering its Bonvoy members a BRIBE of 500 points to write a perfect review. I think this is wrong, so take what you read in the reviews with a grain of salt, knowing that. I actually had a very nice stay. The room was very nice, bed was comfortable with good pillows and the shower was lovely. I just wish Marriott would not bribe people with points to get perfect reviews.

Positive: Staff was very nice, and pretty good breakfast as free ones go Negative: Sound proofing between floors is awful - would not expect that for a newer property. Lost hours of sleep my first night as the people above me must have gotten up early for a flight, and I could hear everything they were doing.

I am beyond disappointed with my stay at the Residence Inn Needham. The entire property was permeated with a strong marijuana odor—inside my room, through the ventilation system, in the hallways, elevators, and even the lobby. It was constant and inescapable. As a Platinum Elite member with Marriott International, I find this completely unacceptable. I have never experienced anything like this at any Marriott property. This is not only unpleasant, but it raises serious concerns about air quality standards, enforcement of non-smoking policies, and overall management oversight. This property urgently needs to be investigated, audited, and held accountable for maintaining basic hospitality standards. Amazing staff and a wonderful location just a short drive into Boston. From the moment we checked in, the front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. We needed some extra blankets, they grabbed them quickly from the back. We needed ice and they got it immediately for us. We even had some wonderful conversations with the staff while we walked through the lobby. It made it feel very welcoming. The room was very nice and had all the things we needed for a weekend away from home. We liked having plates, coffee cups, etc. for when we brough back food to the hotel. We didn't use the gym or pool, but they looked very well-kept and inviting. The only thing that could be improved is the pullout sofa bed. Very clean, comfortable, and well-furnished in the heart of what used to be marshland but what is now a light industrial park. The staff was very cheerful and helpful. The breakfast was surprisingly high quality. Easy access to the interstate. Our receptionist Rachel took extra care to put us in a quiet room. Wifi is reliable and fast.
