Red Roof Inn Toledo - University

This hotel service was the WORST experience I have ever had. I only came here bc of a last minute booking to be closer to an exam, but behind this I would never come back to another place like this. I moved from one room that I saw had roaches to another room that had one bed with what I’m sure were sheets that were never washed. How can maintenance be soo nasty! I did make a complaint to the customer service guy in front, but he had an arrogant attitude, so yeah never again.

Hands down without a doubt the worst motel I've ever stayed in. And I've stayed in hundreds as I am a senior citizen. The University Red Roof Inn was very noisy, with filthy rooms that had dirt/grime and mold from water damage, and roaches in the bathroom and under the fridge. When I complained about water leaking from the ceiling onto my belongings, the large gal from the front desk stated, and I kid you not, 'yeah, it leaks when someone in the room above doesn't put the shower curtain inside the shower.' I'm sure the Health Department would agree with her statement... She and the rest of the staff were dour and grim. Not a smile to be found. They looked miserable, gazing off into the distant sky, as if having a moment of clarity, questioning the choices that led them to working there.

Pretty basic hotel. Better than other Red Roof Inns I've stayed in. Clean beds and linens. Smaller details are a little less clean, like the walls. You get what you pay for. 🤷🏼‍♀️ Grateful to have an affordable place to stay while my heat is out!

I didn't expect anything fancy because of the low price, but I would never, ever offer my guests the neglect of this room. I was especially put off by the overpowering smoke and fragrance odor as I entered, the rusty tub and blood on the bathroom door, peeling paint, two broken lampshades, rusty handles on the dresser and grime on the edge of the night stand. I'll give them 3 points for the newer style sink, and the mattress was comfortable. I appreciated having a mini-fridge. The manager was on speaker phone with a call about franchise profits throughout the entire process of checking out. Goodbye!
