Red Roof Inn Tallahassee - University

Positive: The staff was great. Beds were comfortable. Price was right for what we got. Convenient location just off of interstate. Lots of restaurants and stores close by. Negative: The door handle came off of the inside of our door. The room was clean at first glance, but not so much if you took a closer look.

I don’t recommend this motel.I didn’t feel safe. It was noisy. Neighbors were playing loud music all night. The rooms furnishings were worn. The bedding was torn and had holes.

The Red Roof in Tallahassee was such a treat for a budget hotel. 'QUEEN TESSA ' I gave her that name, the manager, was incredible!! She not only manages the hotel; she also cleans the rooms. I examined everything bathrooms and beds for an A+ cleanliness score. I was on a trip to New Orleans and then back again to Miami for my trip home to Italy. I ended up having a 4 night stay in 2 different rooms. RED Roof is a well kept secret in cost effective overnight stays. They are blessed to have her as an employee. Room not clean. Floor was sticky and turned your feet black and shower has mold and mildew around it. The couch in the room is filthy with what appears to be old food spilled onto it. There is no rubber seal around the door so you can see light all around the door. The bed was clean and the sheets were clean, thank goodness, as I just needed a place to sleep for the night and it is right off I-10 with an awesome farm-to-table right next door.

For a budget hotel, this place was very nice. Don’t know what the other reviewers experienced, but both our rooms were clean and bug-free. Desk clerk was very accommodating and allowed us to check the beds for cleanliness before checking in. No soaps or shampoos, and door key on one room was a little wonky, but they swapped it out promptly. TV worked and otherwise no complaints! Would absolutely stay here again.
