Red Roof Inn & Suites Mobile SW - I-10

My Mardi Gras trip was almost completely ruined thanks to this hotel’s false advertising and shockingly substandard business practices. After driving 14–16 exhausting hours from Washington, DC to Mobile for Mardi Gras, the last thing we expected was to walk into a nightmare. Before arriving, I called multiple times to ask about early check-in. First I was told no. Then I was told it “depends on how fast housekeeping works.” Fine. What I absolutely made clear—multiple times—was that I booked a KING DELUXE room and I wanted confirmation that it would look like the photos advertised on the website. I was told, without hesitation, YES. That was blatantly untrue. The smell hit me before I even fully opened the door. When I stepped inside, I was greeted by sticky, dirty floors. Not just slightly

This hotel is not for the picky traveler! The room we ended up in was okay for the night, and the staff was nice. The hotel lobby and area are pretty bad! It is run down, dirty and in a bad neighborhood. The bed sheets in the first room had a burn hole, black stains and the desk chair was broken. We got another room that was better, but it needed a good cleaning—especially the floor. The wall above the shower was ready to fall down, and the fixtures were loose because they weren’t properly installed. ||We had stayed here before, but it wasn’t this bad. ||We stay at Red “Woof” Inns because they are dog friendly. Most of them are okay (the one in Gulf Shores is great!), but this one is not.

Things were a little sketchy when we first came in. But we were hopeful. When we got to the room, there was a hole in the ceiling where there was a leak. There were roaches on the floor the sheets had stains and cigarette burns on them. The faucet was torn off. We asked for a refund, and they proceeded to have us look at two other rooms to see if they were acceptable.They were in very similar conditions. I was grateful for the lady at the counter because she did allow us to get a full refund. But the conditions there are absolutely deplorable.

If I could give 0 stars I would. Rented this room after 14 hours on the road, walked into a room with stained bed sheets/pillowcases, actual dirt (at least I hope it was just dirt) in the the bed sheets, pubic hair in the tub, moldy trash in on the closet shelves and old shampoo that had been spilled on the bathroom counter and floor. I brought this to the attention of the front desk and I was quickly told it wasn't their problem since I booked through a 3rd party and to take it up with them. The rudest and nastiest hotel I've ever stepped foot in. AVOID AT ALL COSTS
