Red Roof Inn Neptune - Jersey Shore

The location wasn't to bad for me granted it was the only one cheap enough for and emergency night 10 minutes away from my aunt. The service wasn't bad though I never met the person I booked the room with. They kept saying oh they'd be here in and hour, or with in 30 mins, then at the end of the night it was I'd meet them tomorrow morning. I didn't really care I just felt bad calling everyone Sam. The metal bed frame is the absolute worst! Every time you move at night it makes this sound like you were gonna fall through it. The metal bars that held the mattress on definitely gave me a few bruises by morning. And oh my GOD those beds! They were horrible my boyfriend barely got a wink of sleep with how uncomfortable they were! Stiff beds, rock hard pillows, and itchy sheets and blankets! I j

We booked this online and ask for handicap room. When we got there they said they don't have handicap rooms and put us on the second floor. I can't climb stairs and there is no elevator. When we got into the room it had the most horrible smell like men's cologne trying to mask some other odor. We went down to the office, the man behind the thick window had a very heavy accent, a mask and I couldn't understand a word he was saying. We told him we wanted the first floor room because they're website is incorrect and I can't do stairs. We had to stay a second night upstairs before we could get a downstairs floor. The second room was so much better than the first room. Cleaner, no horrible smell and comfortable.

Positive: Staff were awesome, helpful and welcoming, room and linens wereImpeccably clean. Bed and pillows were lovely and comfortable. Negative: Chairs were well worn.

The motel was absolutely perfect for what we needed/wanted for our brief visit to Asbury Park Beach. Pet friendly, friendly staff, quiet and clean, it had the best price around and an amazing location, less than 10 minutes to the beach. We visited off season so everything was pretty quiet, but I would definitely stay there again any time.

Overall good value for money, would stay there again. A couple of notes for others considering: While the hotel's website states coffee is available in the lobby (like most Red Roof Inns), I didn't see any coffee or accessible vending or ice there. The front desk appears to sell candy bars if you call the front desk from the lobby phone. The ice machine is also behind the front desk. Not sure about soft drinks. There was a "cafe valet" in the hotel room, but the creamer packet appeared quite old - the powder had hardened. There are places to get coffee that are nearby. The room itself was clean and in good shape. Bathroom was fine with a decent walk-in shower. You're 12 minutes from the Ocean Grove beach, can't beat that at that price!
