Red Roof Inn Detroit - Rochester Hills/ Auburn Hills

Cozy little place with super friendly and understanding staff, the first room had a stained blanket but both rooms we stayed in had dirty wash rags.. the first looked like it was used to wipe dust. Notified the counter and got fresh towels but still.

Positive: This hotel is a go-to when I'm in Rochester Hills. The management has done a great job in refurbishing rooms since 2024. Negative: ""

I know it’s supposed to be a cheap place to stay, but I expected it to at least be clean, maintained and bug- free. Unfortunately, it wasn’t not.| The bathroom walls were chipped away (see photo). No plungers in the drains. The carpet had been replaced with linoleum, which had sticky spots (ick!) and gritty spots (ugh!). | The toilet doesn’t flush and when I told the front desk, they said “Yeah that toilet hardly ever works.” (But didn’t fix it.) There were permanent stains on the sheets.| The lights outside the door attract flying insects, which swoop into the room when I open the door.| Every time I went to use the badge key, it wouldn’t work, so I’d have to go to the office to get it reset. | The neighbors were loud through the paper thin walls. I felt a little threat

Red roof inn / ROACHester hills. I booked two nights here but left after one due to unacceptable conditions. Upon arrival, the shower was broken, and the air quality in the room was poor, making the entire environment feel heavy and stifling. ​The next morning was terrible: I woke up to large roaches on the walls and floor. Because I work from a desktop computer, I felt incredibly uneasy and disgusted having to finish my shift in an infested room before I could dismantle my setup. I even found more dead roaches by the desk while working. ​front desk offered a room switch, but with this level of infestation, a new room isn't a solution. Despite showing photo proof and inviting staff to see the bugs themselves, they denied my refund. It is professional negligence to charge a guest for a room

We stay at a bunch of Red Roof while traveling and we initially thought this was going to be one of the better ones. Wrong. While the room itself wasn't terrible outside of a stain on the sheets that looked like blood, the massive amounts of dog feces littering the sidewalk and all accessible pathways through the snow that was what makes this place disgusting. Seriously, the amount of dog crap is insane, the fact that the cleaners and other members of staff walk past this without addressing is insane. If I didn't just need a spot for a couple hour to sleep, id be asking for my money back. Expect to step in dog poop if you come in in the night...
