Holiday Inn Express & Suites Rochester Hills - Detroit Area by IHG

I have stayed at hotels at all across the country, and have never seen such an amazing team assembled working in sync, harmony, peace, and no drama whatsoever! Kelly, the manager, is doing an amazing job and Angel who is the Supervisor for Housekeeping is parallel in her professionalism and abilities. The entire staff is courteous and kind, and the hotel rooms are very clean with the staff always ready to accommodate!

We booked 2 beds on an upper quiet floor. The elevator was under repair so we were given the last room available - a 1 bed, no bathtub room by the Fitness Center, Pool and Dining Area. Very noisy location and we were awakened early. ||The A/C was weak. Our set temp was never met.||The breakfast was a disappointment. There were no hot selections, the cold breads were scare and limited. The fruit consisted of a bowl of brown oranges.||The pool was closed due to being under repair. ||Holiday Inn feels a token number of reward points is compensation for their multiple failures.

The front desk staff, maintenance and the Maid service were all very helpful. The Hotel needs an upgrade, this is the third time we’ve stayed there and our TV didn’t work because all the wires were jammed in the back and we had to switch remotes out three times only to find out the antenna for the remote was buried in the wires back behind the TV. - maybe consider Smatt TVs! The front of one of the queen beds was falling off and the bathtub had chips in it that were not covered up- quarter size black spots. The Hotel is in a great location, close to restaurants, stores and Electric charging if needed, but for the amount of traffic and the area which is located, it should be upgraded and done quickly. Again, the staff is great there and they’re doing the best to deal with the hotel the way

The hotel feels old and poorly maintained, despite some superficial updates. While certain areas look renovated, the overall condition is dated and worn. The walls are extremely thin, making it easy to hear noise from neighboring rooms and outside, which seriously affects the ability to rest. On the positive side, the rooms are cleaned and organized daily, and the breakfast service is good. However, these positives do not make up for the room conditions, which leave a lot to be desired.

The rooms felt very updated and new. On site amenities such as the treadmills and pools were lacking though. One treadmill wouldn't turn on and the other wouldn't go above 5 mph. The pool was incredibly over chlorinated.
