I was nervous after reading some of the reviews on here, but this place was GREAT! If you love a solid non-corporate twentieth-century-style family-friendly motel, I highly recommend this place. We stayed in the white one-story building in the back, which was very peaceful and quiet. The room had a fun vibe, including a very pretty sky blue toilet and faux stone/faux wood walls, and it all seemed reasonably clean and was comfortable.||There's a lot of nice outdoor space and playground equipment for younger kids, and the pool was great (the Game Room is sadly defunct, but what can you do). It's next door to a restaurant/brewery and a few minutes drive to pleasant breakfast options (we got an easy coffee/egg-on-a-roll type breakfast at nearby Circle W, also recommended). Know what you are booking and take value in it. We booked this knowing we were booking an old motel in the mountains. There was no expectations of luxury or hilton honors. What we wanted after 5 days in the car in cramped hotel rooms was space away from our kids for a night and room to spread out. So, we booked the 3 bedroom house. Even the hotel owner was surprised because it rarely gets booked. Well it should more. It's worth it for those looking for a home away from home. Yes, it is older, straight from the 80s, with flat beds and dust. We spent new years eve here and got to go to hunters mountain for tubing and fireworks, 6 year old in bed by 10, 14 year old up watching the finale of stranger things in the living room, then the ball drop. My wife and I stayed here one night in October 2025. The room was outrageously priced for what you get, which is a very old and dated room…I honestly was excited at first since it had a nostalgic appeal that reminded me of motel rooms I’d stayed in with family as a child. But this nostalgic moment would not last unlike that smell of old motel room ..a concoction of ancient smoke, spilled beverages etc. It’s the filthy conditions that have prompted me to share my thoughts on this motel. The carpet appeared very old and stained and in bad need of replacement, we weren’t comfortable touching our uncovered feet to the floor. The tub basin and shower curtain were inexcusably disgusting. Room was super clean and smelled great! No weird, gross, or old smells. It actually smelled clean and fresh. Amazing staff who were kind, nice, and friendly! We got a room with two beds and were surprised to find also two sinks in the room with giant vanity mirror, which is helpful when multiple people are needing that space. It is simple but amazing for the price!
