Red Lion Hotel Salem

Really great pet friendly hotel! I was pleasantly surprised with our single queen sized room. Very spacious and clean. I don't think I've ever experienced such great sleep in a hotel bed either. Staff is extremely friendly and always willing to help. The continental breakfast was incredible. Another bonus is there is no pet fee or weight restrictions. We brought both of our dogs and they were just as welcomed as we were. I'm very impressed. You can tell that the hotel really thinks about their customers and provides services accordingly.

We made our reservations on line, and from previous experience from having used Red Lion in the past, we anticipated having an enjoyable time. We love the elegant look and were looking forward to using the available amenities (heated pool, and gym), we were quite shocked and heartbroken to see the condition of the hotel, it was under construction and we actually didn’t even know where the entrance was! We considered going to another hotel, because of the noise, dust, and plain and simple not what we were expecting. I spoke with Jose at the front desk, who assured us they would work with us to make our stay enjoyable. He moved us to a larger and better room, they did more for us than most hotels. It made up for any inconvenience we had. After construction I’m sure they will be be back

The hotel was under construction so there was a lot of noise. There was also a lot of boarded up areas. My room was a bit dated with peeling paint and a weird smell. The bed was good and the shower had good pressure. The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was just so-so with orange juice priced at $4. I'm hopeful that the remodel goes well but probably wouldn't stay here again unless I have a conference there.

First impression was shocking because no where on the website did they mention they’d be doing reconstruction on half the building. There was lobby but a small area to check in. Never did they advertise that the pool was also out of use. I have 3 kids and if you have children then you know that the pool is IMPORTANT when staying somewhere. They also advertised “Free Breakfast” Which was not the case. So it was shocking when I was handed the bill for breakfast. $10 a person is not a lot to pay but when your told it’s free... The gentleman who checked us in was so sweet and very understanding. He said he would talk to the manager to see if they could give us a discount for the pool and a refund for the breakfast. This hotel is well maintained and conveniently located near the highway. The double Queen room was spacious and clean. bonus points for having an enclosed toilet! There is a bar and grill connected to the hotel serving decent meals thought-out the day. We had breakfast included with our stay of $110/night. The concierge were very friendly and helpful.
