Such a great hike, it was a little bit cold in January 2026 but it got warm by 10 AM

This is a great hike for nimble and aggressive hikers. There's no rappelling needed, but you've got to be willing to climb steep rocks and do a lot of scrambling. The views are great so don't forget to stop and take a look around.

The map doesn't give you any idea where to find the most iconic site (as far as I believe) to the water reservoir and tiny waterfall (if there is enough rain). Take the Red Reef trail all the way at the back of the road before crossing into the camp site main area. You can park just before the little bridge to see the sites shown in my review. So beautiful!

We loved this place so much we visited two different days to make sure we saw the best trails! We first parked outside of the camping area in order to get a full hiking experience up to the archaeology find. It’s amazing to see the contrast between wildfire damage and the new growth breaking through. There is a water refilling station in the parking lot outside of the park (where RVs can park). Definitely make sure you are well prepared with water and sunscreen since some of the trails do not have a lot of shade. Be aware of snakes and other critters, and PLEASE where bug spray. We encountered some areas with tall grass, so be aware of ticks and whatnot. The dinosaur site was nifty, but we really enjoyed the archaeology site more. FYI: It is a very dusty trail, so if you don’t want very di

Awesome hike and beautiful quiet place! You can also park and camp there. Kind of hidden in nowhere land.
