Red Carpet Inn - Newark Irvington

Room was spacious. I was a first time traveler to the city. I didn't know where anything was, the wonderful front desk lady, was able to give me all the information I need. We took the shuttle to the bus station in where the driver recommended us to take the express into New York. I will definitely stay here again if I am ever down in the area.

Strong marijuana smell in the lobby and hallways, but inside the non-smoking room was okay. Served it's purpose for our affordable overnight stay close to the airport. Receptionist was nice but a little slow with outdated check-in system.

The rooms were clean and nice. It was just kind of inconvenient that you really have to worry about your car being towed. The police were all over the place. The hotel was locked down tighter than Fort Knox. If I wanted to stay in locked down place I wouldn’t be staying at a hotel. They harassed my husband each time he went outside kept asking what room he was in. Etc talking about no visitors. Not worth the headache. There are nicer places with freedom to move around and have visitors

Room was dated but for 2 people for the night we didn’t care too much, we payed extra for a Spa bath, it wasn’t a spa bath just a regular tub. We were very troubled all night about our car getting towed because all the rules about it and we had to keep a tag visible at all times but it was snowing and we were worried all night. The place is overly locked down, we were passing through so don’t know the area but probably wouldn’t book again because of how scary everything made it seem. Overall SCARY, CHEAP, CLEAN. That’s it lol
