Rambler Motel

We were Sunday afternoon walk-ins. Since we had not expected to stay in the area, we have no price comparison; they charged us $68.25, including taxes. We selected this motel because it was close to our next day appointment and because my in-laws used to stay here in the 1990s - early 2000s and liked it and became friends with the previous owners. WIFI worked ok. We chose a non-smoking room and detected no smoke. Tube TV worked ok - don't know how many channels, as we found one and watched it without looking further. Bed was ok, clean, though sparse on bedding. The old style analog (dial without temperatures labeled) wall mounted Heat/AC unit worked ok. They told me sorry cuz it took 4hrs to clean the room. When I walked in there was trash everywhere. If it took them 4hrs to clean and they wanted a deposit just in case, then you are getting screwed. they will take the deposit and blame the condition of the room on you when in reality it was because they didn't do their job and clean it like they were supposed to in the 1st place. They are thief's and only worried about money. Never go to this hotel.

This can be a reasonably priced property to stay atbut has gone down in recent years. Non-smoking rooms (about 7 available) can be moderately clean, but not always cleaned of pet smells after someone brings them. The smoking rooms are very smelly and filthy, glad I do not smoke. Very limited cable, no phones, no coffee. Showers are hot but often with poor water flows. Owner Raju and wife Hena get picky with those who stay more than 4 nights or long term. I have stopped visiting here when ever in the area. Though slightly high price, staying at the Super 8 are up in Gettysburg might be wiser choice.

Filthy. I went here when I was traveling to Ocean City. The staff was friendly. No bugs. This place is so outdated. It was 1:00 am i was thinking about sleeping in my Toyota Corolla. Only THREE ac units. I don't want to be mean here but I DID NOT EVEN WANT TO BREATH IN THIS PLACE. I only came here because It was the first place to go. The SUPER 8 is better than this place. I stayed here four nights per week for three months while building mountain bike trails in nearby Emmitsburg. I really enjoyed my stay! The owners and staff are friendly and helpful, and I like the ability to park near my room so I can move my things in and out easily. Being next to Sheetz and Burger King was nice, too. Overall a wonderful place to stay, especially long term.
