Camp Misty Mount

We recently spent two nights at Camp Misty Mount, staying in one of the rustic 1937 cabins, and overall, it was a memorable and peaceful experience. If you’re looking for a rustic cabin experience with good amenities in a scenic setting, Camp Misty Mount is a solid choice. With a little more attention to cabin maintenance (especially cleanliness and dryness), it could easily be a 5-star experience. We’d definitely consider coming back! For a campground with historical cabins, the amenities were excellent: • The shared washroom facilities were clean and well-kept, which made a big difference. • There was plenty of wood available for both fire pits and barbecuing, which made evenings around the fire really enjoyable. • The swimming pool was a highlight — it was exceptionally well-maintained

Rustic cabins, but extremely clean inside. This is basically tent camping, but with a rustic structure and electricity. Expect bugs. Cabin 20 is very spacious. Partitioned into two rooms... one with 4 singles and one with 2 singles... two storage cabinets, a ceiling fan and lights. Outlets in both rooms. Firepit and picnic table outside. Wood provided. It is a short walk to parking lot and longer walk to the restrooms. Updated bathhouse and pool are nice additions. Hikes take you from campground to other trail systems including Cunningham Falls. This area is wooded and hilly. Great value for what you get.

I was not disappointed, this was amazing experience ever. The cabins are ok, the beds not comfortable. However, they are spacious... They have free wood, but they take donations. The facility has a pool which is open during the summer.

Great rustic cabin experience, friendly staff and clean facilities. Complimentary firewood on check-in day, then you can go to the wood-shed for more (suggested $5 donation). Cabins have electric outlets, but a sign on the door tells you not to use them! (perhaps they don't want you to bring heavy duty appliances like space heaters). Cabins are quite close to each other. The upper loop has a dishwashing station which is very helpful. Windows are not drafty. A padlock is provided for the door. The beds could be a bit better (even for a rustic cabin). Very accessible to trails, nearby attractions (Cunningham Falls State Park etc) and restaurants (Thurmont). The heated pool is a hit with kids. Camp Misty Mount is absolutely beautiful. It's old, it's rustic, it's peaceful and quiet and an amazing way to take a step back from the complications of modern life.
