Ramada by Wyndham Oceanside

From the time we arrived we were treated with little respect. We asked for a room on the top floor but were told the only room avaialable was #313 (there are 4 floors).||When we arrived in the room, it smelled off, like musty carpet. We thought it might be the cleaners used and left to go downtown for a few hours. It still smelled when we returned and when we opened the drawers they smelled so bad we coldn't put our clothes in them. ||We went to the front desk to request a different room. We were told there were rooms on the fourth floor, but the host would need to call the owner for permission. After a quick call, she informed us the owner had denied our request because we had been in the room too long. We protested and asked to speak to the owner directly. She placed another call and sai

Positive: Room seemed roomy. It was nice, safe provided. Staff seems to care about their guest. Area is fine with me, close to the beach and restaurants and the streets seem safe. Did not see questionable people walking around. Negative: Charged a deposit of $200! I not an incidental charge. Tied up $200, the clerk offered to cancel my room. Fortunately had a credit card and was able to salvage my stay. No breakfast, only granola bars, this price point and no breakfast, SMH

Honestly I can't see why 70 of the other reviews were negative. It seems most were written by people who don't often stay at mid tier hotels. I've spent the last 2 nights here for Valentine's day weekend. For $105 a night there's ZERO chance I'd go anywhere else. The beds are decent. The room was clean. Yes it did smell of cleaner when we checked in but turn the AC on for a few mins and that goes away. The deposit everyone is having complaints about is basically ignorant. Toss the entire thing on a credit card and call it a day. When the room ends and 3-5 days later it's back on your card it wouldn't have mattered that it was even held. My boyfriend and I have stayed at this hotel for a total of 5 times now. Our last visit was on January 21st 2026 and check out was on the 22nd. The owner herself came to greet me an my boyfriend. She was kind and respectful and she was professional as well. She told him that she liked his shirt which made me smile a little. But overall we haven’t had any complaints as far as I know I really love the fact that we get shower caps because I have long hair and I don’t want to get it wet. Bed was comfy too. I really didn’t want to leave but check out was at 11am. The policy with checking each guest ID is pretty reasonable. To prevent people from sneaking people in. I really liked the place. My boyfriend and I will definitely stay there again. No other place can beat the price. 😊😊 On a side note

Our 2 night stay was very comfortable, affordable & pleasant. I read reviews previous to our stay at this location and I must say, I’m quite confused at how a few of them spoke ill of the office staff . The staff an absolute pleasure to work with. Unfortunately I failed to get her name however, I believe she is the manager, was extremely helpful, friendly, very talkative, informative & overall she made us feel very welcome. She took time to help us, made sure we were set to go even walked us outside to show us door we needed to use to get to 2nd floor, pointed out where things were & simply a delight to speak with. The other younger gal behind counter just as inviting & pleasant to speak with, both had a great sense of humor as well. Should we ever need to travel to area again we most def
