Rainbow Shores

Quaint cabin like motel on the shore of Lake Ontario. We had room 10 that included a king and single day bed. Nice maybe newly remodeled room. |Road leading to the place is dirt and very rough. The little Bistro was hopping both nights we were there. Check in was a little tricky. You have to go to the restaurant that is open 4 to 10 and wait for someone to check you in.

Our hotel room with a comfortable King bed and view was clean. The dresser was convenient to store our clothes. The microwave and small refrigerator were useful as we brought quiche for breakfast knowing that we would have to drive somewhere for breakfast. It is so peaceful there we wanted to just relax and enjoy hearing the waves lapping the shoreline. We ate at the restaurant both nights and had great meals. The sunset both nights was beautiful. We've been going to the restaurant for years and have always enjoyed the experience. We will go again next year and hopefully stay in the same hotel room.

We stayed at the RS for one night. The room was on the small side but clean and quaint. It does smell like moth balls. The location is the best part with Adirondack chairs to sit in by the water to enjoy the sunset. We also ate dinner here. They have a nice selection of dishes. It is a little pricey but I would say worth it. Service was excellent and the view from the deck can't be beat. We also really enjoyed the live music. Expect your dining experience to be at least 2 hours. It takes a while to get a table, drink and meal. But if you aren't in a hurry, definitely go here for dinner and sit and relax.

My wife & I celebrated our 46th wedding anniversary on 7/27/25 (actual wedding date was 7/27/79) at Rainbow Shores restaurant and waterfront room #10. Weather was full sun & in the 80s. We were seated promptly at our reservation time of 5pm. Asked for & received a water front table. My wife’s seafood medley was exceptional and I loved my medium rare Rack of Lamb. Both presentations were very appealing and very fresh. Our friendly server, Cicely, was very familiar with the menu and gave us prompt great service. The outside live band music in the background helped make this a memorable night. We returned to our beautiful updated lake front room #10 for a night cap & to catch the #1 world’s sunset.

Remote and simple room. Enjoyed sitting out on the deck looking at the water. Restaurant at a great location on the water and service was excellent. Be prepared to relax and take the time to wait for your food. Room, though clean had a strong smell - you get use to it. The beach on the other hand is not a beach to sit at unless you can take the strong smell of dead fish coming from the uncared for beach next to the property.
