Quality Inn Zephyrhills

Check in was average. Our Diamond status was not noted. I asked and the lady seemed to not acknowledge it. She did bring water after I asked. The young man was very helpful both days. Breakfast was the least we have had anywhere. We picked here instead of Econolodge nearby, expecting better. The room was nice, but overrun with ants. The young man helped try to find spray, but had none.

I had made a reservation to stay here while I was visiting family in the area. I arrived about 9 to a nice looking lobby and a very friendly person at the check in desk. I got checked in and she told me where to park. First issue was that my key card did not work. No problem. I went back to the front desk and she apologetically rekeyed my card. Walking into the room I was hit with a strong smell of cleaning products. I propped the door open and turned the fan on high to try to air it out. I went back to the car to get more luggage and when I got back I tried to identify the smell that the cleaning products were trying to mask. It was a dog smell. Good location due to its proximity to downtown, the hospital, and major shopping areas. The parking lot is often used for smoking and loitering by other patrons. If you’re lucky, theres a pleasant surprise when the lights are turned on and bugs scurry away to their respective hiding places. I was lonely so tried to make conversation with a roach who always greeted me in the bathroom. Be careful with sleeping near the headboard because the slight closing of a door will shake the wall and may jostle your head a little bit. Oh and the walls are so thin you can practically hear your neighbor breathe. They placed my mom, a single elderly female, on the first floor where everyone goes by from the lobby. My family and I stayed here for the weekend, and it was a terrible experience. The first night was okay, but the floors were dirty—our socks were black from walking around the room. Things went downhill on the second day. Around 10 PM, a man who seemed like he lived there came up to us asking about his lost vape. We told him we hadn’t seen it and went on with our night. We were being a bit loud, and the front desk lady rudely told us to quiet down. We respectfully said "yes ma'am" and moved our gathering to the strip out front to avoid bothering anyone. Later, the same man approached us again, accusing us of taking his vape and claiming he had COVID. We denied it and walked away. My husband and I stayed here on January 16, 17th and checked out on the 18th. When we arrived, late in the evening, everything looked fine. The room look clean the hotel looked pretty bare bones, but it looked well kept. We got up early in the next morning to,two or three day old muffins. Horrible coffee, about 10 apples in a bowl and about 20 little containers of Activa brand yogurt… Yuck and you can make your own waffles. That is all no milk no juice no little bottles of water no toast no eggs no nothing just waffles or the pancake dried muffins and an apple worst breakfast I’ve ever seen in my life and I’m 75 years old.
