Quality Inn Thermopolis near Hot Springs

The staff for this hotel were outstanding. Very warm and friendly and down to earth. The room was very clean and comfortable with desk and table for laptops. While we did not use the amenities, they appeared to be very functional. Breakfast was the standard you get from most hotels of this nature but the coffee was great. In talking to the manager, he indicated he hunted for the best coffee (I believe he said it was Cowboy Coffee) and I think he nailed it. We drink it black and it was hot with great dark roasted coffee taste. (Please note this is my and my wife's opinion and we are not Panera, Starbuck patrons). The staff seemed to be very dedicated in trying to ensure we were comfortable.

The room was beautiful and cozy and spacious. King 👑 room has a very cozy couch, large TV and everything was clean 😁. The pool area is like a vacation space✨👍😃😍. And the staff were friendly and helpful and just great people 😁. Enjoyed my stay!!

Slow check in due to a new person in training at the desk and another guest checking in (more than 10 minutes). Initially booked into a smoking room (I didn't know anyone had those anymore) which had a disconnected smoke detector. The room I moved into needed new mattresses (both looked like they had impressions from the last occupant). The HVAC unit filters were broken and dirty. The sink was plumbed with cold water on the left side of the faucet and the bathroom was generally pretty poorly maintained. I would not have booked a room in a motel that allows smoking, but the building condition alone would make me stay somewhere else the next time I visit Thermopolis.

Since the night crew only had a single person running the front desk, serving drinks to guest in the hospitality area, and trying to handle customer phone questions or problems it took us over 30 minutes to get checked in for the night. The employee was doing everything she could but handling multiple tasks were much to ask for a single employee, especially since there appeared to multiple large groups scheduled to stay at the hotel that evening, you would have thought there could have been some additional coverage for a few hours that evening.

We love coming to stay in Thermopolis, Wy, we travel from Kaycee,Wy. It's about a 3 hour drive. Our room was wonderful and the staff was very nice and helpful, the breakfast was delicious (especially) the scrambled eggs and the fried potatoes 👍 Our only down fall with staying here, and we've said something many TIMES, Is the hotel allows customers (residents) to leave the side door entrance and exit propped open, hotel keys are given upon check in, and to get in the building without using the front entrance, THIS IS SO VERY UNSAFE, anyone can walk in and out without the front desk knowing, this should NEVER be allowed. If it keeps happening, we will no longer stay here, and we come to Thermopolis quite a bit throughout the year, every year for the passed 15 years. I really hope this is lo
