Quality Inn & Suites Elko

my reservation was made by Choice Hotels after i wasnt able to get my reserved room at the rodeway inn, which is another choice hotel. I walked 1.8 miles to this hotel because they do not have a shuttle. When i got there i got to my room only to have the smoke alarm chirping away. they guy at the front desk wanted to know if i wanted the battery replaced or a different room....seriously? i got another room and tried to get as much sleep as i can before i had to leave in the morning. When i got up and checked out and got my receipt, i noticed that i was charged full price! I had spoke with the front desk at the hotel from the rodeway inn to confirm that i had a reservation and also hoped to get a shuttle and was told that there is NO shuttle at all. The room here was so clean you could eat off the floor. (But you don't have to because they have a delicious, solid breakfast.) The bed was so comfortable!!! The mattress was the perfect mix of firmness/softness for both of us. It had a warm quilt and soft sheets and pillows so comfy. The window opens if you want real air, which I always do and rarely find in a hotel anymore. There's a small fitness room with three machines that cover everything. The best thing is staff here. They are the nicest people!!! They make sure your stay is the best.

Quality Inn and Suites is normally a decent hotel, not top of the line, but decent. This hotel was anything but that. When entering the lobby, the smell was very strong and nauseating. There was no one at the front desk when we entered, but there was a sign indicating they would be back soon and they did show up after a short time. There seemed to be some confusion with their system as to check in, but eventually that was resolved. Upon entering the room. The smell again was overwhelming. Sickening actually. The Hotel is old, the floor is soft and creaks, the bedspread is old and stained, the bed looked like it had been through the war, the curtains on the window are hanging loose, with paint stains in front of a dirty window that has no screen. The manager was awesome and super understanding when we had to extend our stay 3 times. Good breakfast in the morning as well. I had my son with me so I get paranoid and worried having him in a hotel with lots of strangers but I felt perfectly safe the whole time. The laundry machines were super convenient especially after having to unexpectedly extend our stay. Super great for the price

I had an issue with a special rate being charged for one day of my stay. In the past, customer support was unable to resolve it. However, the owner and manager at this location stepped in and corrected the charge promptly. The hotel is very clean, well-maintained, and accommodating. Staff were professional and responsive. I appreciate the way management handled the situation directly and efficiently. Five stars. I would recommend this property to anyone staying in Elko.
