Quality Inn Fort Frances

What a difference from our last stay. The rooms were clean, maybe just a little extra sweep in the corners and they would have been perfect. The lobby looked great and the staff were genuinely friendly and accommodating. We were disappointed to see the restaurant was closed, but they went above and beyond and let our team hang out in the space and play pool, which meant a lot. That flexibility doesn’t go unnoticed. This was hands down the best service we’ve received here. Huge credit to the new team for turning things around. From a 2-star experience to a solid 5-star stay. If you’re travelling with a team, I would definitely recommend booking here. The breakfast bar still has some room to grow, but it was much cleaner and better organized than in past visits. An excellent experience. Very friendly and professional check-in staff. Very clean — our room was spotless. Excellent room amenities. Breakfast was much better than other hotel breakfasts we have had. We would definitely stay there again.

My husband is of short stature and the beds were way too high for him. The lights were hard to turn on and off. We had to ask for help. Rooms are too dimly lit for our liking, And the heater in the room sounded like a train (we turned it off). My husband had asked for a medical rate, which he did not receive. He was told that it would be given to him the next time we stayed. It was very clean and the decor was nice. Not too many noises came in from the hallway. The continental breakfast was delicious. The staff was friendly and very helpful.

I tried to manage my expectations, but this hotel was awful. Upon check in there was another guest waiting to check on, no one behind the desk, but an employee refilling a coffee bar. After a 5 minute wait someone finally came back. The hall to our room was freezing cold, but the temperature inside our room was set to 78. Couldn't stand to even be inside it.. We went to the restaurant to eat. The server did her best but it seemed like the other staff would send her other places often, so service was terrible. The bartender/ other server was more interested in playing with the kids in the room than serving anyone. At one point we had to go to the front desk to see if anyone's was even working in the restaurant anymore, as we hadn't seen anyone in over 20 minutes. When I reviewed my bill

This hotel needs to pay more attention to detail. There was no regular coffee in my room, only one make up (dark) washcloth and the room smelled like a sweaty person stayed there for a long period of time. The last time I stayed I was given a room with no window and stained shower curtain and pillow case. ( not the room I booked. I doubt I will stay at this property again. The staff are trying and I do appreciate that but my last 3 stays have been less than expected.
